BLW: Let’s welcome the successful Indian newbie authors Kiran and Kajal to Book Lovers World.

Kiran Lalwani: Thank you so much…(Smiles)

Kajal Lalwani: Thank you so much and its pleasure to be here…(Smiles)

BLW: Firstly, congratulations on the launch of your book “Friendship- Bonds Beyond Time”. Tell us a little about yourself.

I’m more like my story character Khushi

Kiran Lalwani: Thank you. Mmm…I can say I’m more like my story character Khushi. That’s all about me. And I feel friendship has shaped me as a more good person at heart.

Kajal Lalwani: I am just an ordinary girl who is simple and sweet but crazy too. I day dream a lott and loves to dance, write short stories and sing too.

BLW: Tell us about your short story Khushi- The Divine Soul, what it means to you, and how did you feel when you saw your name in the winners list?

Kiran Lalwani: This story is very close to my heart as it’s based on true friendship values. It felt really wonderful when we saw our names in the winner list. Frankly speaking, we didn’t expect as we were very very late for submitting the story. But we are very thankful to Mr. Sachin for considering our story at the last moment.

Kajal Lalwani: Yeah! Agree with her. I remember we were waiting for the results eagerly. Honestly speaking, I almost lost all the hopes that our story will get selected but thanks to Mr. Sachin. When I saw the winners list, I started looking for our name. First I didn’t found our name but a urge to check the list again made me feel like mmm.. On cloud nine (Laughs)

BLW: Tell us about the characters of your story. Is it a character from your real life or just a piece of imagination?

Kiran Lalwani: Characters are inspired from real people except the kid. Like Khushi is relatable to me. Kabir & Naina are my best friends. And the story was a piece of imagination.

Kajal Lalwani: It’s purely a piece of imagination.

BLW: What inspired you to write this short story?

Kiran Lalwani: The subject of the book i.e Friendship. Friendship is the word that attracted me to write story. Kajal was not getting the proper idea how to begin as she is quite smart in portraying the love stories very well. So idea was mine and she started in her usual style of writing and I took over and finished the story.

Kajal Lalwani: : As Kiran already said that I love to portray love stories most. So, a story on Friendship was a different thing for me. The genre itself inspired me (smiles)

BLW: Do you like to dedicate your work? To whom will you dedicate and why?

Kiran Lalwani: Ofcourse. I will dedicate my short story to my friends named Kabir and Naina in this story and also to my mummy who is my first best friend for life. Naina and mummy both are my sweethearts. And I feel Naina is my soul sister. (Smiles)

Kajal Lalwani: I will dedicate this story to my sister Kiran.

BLW: What were your biggest learning experience(s) or surprise(s) when participating in online contests?

Kiran Lalwani: Not yet any. Kajal was doing everything for this. I just helped her in the story. Rest was done by Kajal!

Kajal Lalwani: My journey as a writer has just begun. So I guess I have to learn many things, as this is my 2nd anthology. The other authors of my both anthologies are much more talented than me.

BLW: Do you blog? Do you think blogging helps you in learning the art of short story writing?

Kiran Lalwani: I started sometime before but I was too busy with my studies of CA Final so couldn’t continued it. I’m more interested in drawing than writing.

Kajal Lalwani: Ya. I have a blog but it’s been a long time, I haven’t posted anything on my blog. Apart from my blog, I have a personal blog page on Facebook as an editor. And yes blogging helps me in learning the art of short story writing.

BLW: When do you write the most? Is there a favorite place at your home or office where you write the most? Any props that you feel lucky to keep with you when writing?

Kiran Lalwani: I will skip this question as I already said I’m not much into writing stories.

Kajal Lalwani: Mmm… Mostly when I’m alone or some new idea pops up in my mind. My cell phone is my only prop which I always keep with me.

BLW: As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

Kiran Lalwani: As a child, there were many things like being a Doctor(thanks to my science teacher) and Interior decorator and Artist as I love to paint. But unfortunately got admitted to CA Final course. Please pray for me to get out of this very soon. Thank you. (Laughs)

Kajal Lalwani: As a child, I always wanted to be a choreographer. And one day, I will fulfil this dream too.

BLW: What are your inspirations in life?

Kiran Lalwani: My 1st Employer CA B. N. Rao Sir. He is such a great Chartered Accountant but is equally humble and he is a father like personality to me. I really feels blessed for my great loving and understanding parents.

Kajal Lalwani: For my writing, my mom is an inspiration to me and many writers of personal blogs on Facebook inspire me too. For dance, Saroj Khan Mam & Remo D’souza Sir.

BLW: What books have inspired or influenced you as a writer?

Kiran Lalwani: Reading stories on facebook inspired me to share something from my mind too. And what I feel is every CA Student somewhere in his mind wants to share his own Journey from Registration number to Membership number.

Kajal Lalwani: Reading romantic novels and mom’s incomplete dream made me to start writing short stories on facebook for which I got appreciation from my readers and I continued writing.

BLW: What other secret skills do you have?

Kiran Lalwani: I never knew about my secret skills. Thanks to my male friends who told me I have a very sweet voice and I do mimic well(Chuckles) and I can try for being a Rj too..Btw Rj Anirudh, Rj Mallishka, Rj Jeeturaj and Rj Siddhu are my favourite and I love to make prank calls.

Kajal Lalwani: I guess my secret skill was writing only until I started showing it.

BLW: To be a good writer, one should be a good reader. We know you enjoy reading books. What are the best books you have ever read? Name any five.

Kiran Lalwani: I too had a Love story and Can Love happen twice by Ravindra Singh. Anything for you Ma’am by Tushar Raheja. The Secret Wishlist by Preeti Shenoy. If its not forever its not Love and Now that you’re rich..Let’s fall in Love by Durjoy Dutta & Maanvi Ahuja. Half Girlfriend by Chetan Bhagat.

Kajal Lalwani: Ya I love reading too but only love story novels (chuckles). I too had a Love story and Can Love happen twice by Ravindra Singh. Anything for you Ma’am by Tushar Raheja. Half Girlfriend by Chetan Bhagat. When only love remains and Now that you’re rich..Let’s fall in Love by Durjoy Dutta & Maanvi Ahuja are some novels which I really loved.
