Well, Emily Dickenson is a legendary poet of her era.

BLW: Tell us about your short story THE 3 SEVENS, what it means to you, and how did you feel when you saw your name in the winners list?

Nikita Tak: It was like dream come true of getting published and turning a professional writer. The day I discovered passion for writing in me, I always felt that I would write something lesson giving stories for my readers. I do love reading short proverbs. And then I discovered about the friendship anthology contest. Immediately a writer’s proverb clicked my mind that goes in saying, “Unity is strength”. And then I wanted to bring out the fresh plot and I ended up writing the story, “THE 3 SEVENS”. The story is about 3 friends who are born on 7, 16 or 25 of any month and who are mastermind in writing different genres. At earlier stage of their writing career, all 3 had 1 bestselling book to their credit. But then not all their books had hit the market in large volumes sales. So the 3 friends eventually decided to join hands and work on a book together and they got the bestseller to their credit by co-authoring. Hence, in this way the story explains the proverb, “Unity is strength”.

BLW: Tell us about the characters of your story. Is it a character from your real life or just a piece of imagination?

Nikita Tak: It is completely the piece of imagination. (smiling)

BLW: What inspired you to write this short story?

Nikita Tak: Reading short proverbs inspire me to write stories, and I always wish to write stories that explain any good proverb or gives a lesson to the readers.

BLW: Do you like to dedicate your work? To whom will you dedicate and why?

Nikita Tak: To my friends I would like to dedicate the story to explain that if we unite we can create magic.

BLW: What were your biggest learning experience(s) or surprise(s) when participating in online contests?

Nikita Tak: Reading habits have been developed a lot. I got to learn about writing lesson giving story.

BLW: Do you blog? Do you think blogging helps you in learning the art of short story writing?

Nikita Tak: Yes I write the blog, “The Eternity” and people can reach out to my blog at the link, www.nikitatak.blogspot.com. Yes, blogging helps in learning the art of short story writing as well as researching and exploring new vocabulary of words.

BLW: When do you write the most? Is there a favorite place at your home or office where you write the most? Any props that you feel lucky to keep with you when writing?

Nikita Tak: I write according to my mood and yes, there is no such particular place where I write the most. The ideas and imagination can click my mind or heart anytime and anywhere.

Yes there is a person who is lucky for me and is the source of my inspiration for writing. He is the one whom I am in love with, the love of my life. He is the biggest source of my inspiration that I write.

BLW: As a child, what did you want to do when you grew up?

Nikita Tak: I wanted to be a social worker because I love helping people to the core.

BLW: What are your inspirations in life?

Nikita Tak: The legendary poets like William Blake, Maya Angelou, Emily Dickenson, Percy Bysshe Shelly, and few more and last but not the least, my biggest inspiration is the love of my life. (wink)

BLW: What books have inspired or influenced you as a writer?

Nikita Tak: Online poetry books of legendary poets and the book by Tapas Dasmohapatra, “Cooks are many Chefs are Few”

BLW: What other secret skills do you have?

Nikita Tak: Cooking, and my creative works.

BLW: To be a good writer, one should be a good reader. We know you enjoy reading books. What are the best books you have ever read? Name any five.

Nikita Tak: Actually I do not read novels more. I read poetries a lot. But one non-fiction book is one of my favorite. Author Tapas Dasmohapatra’s “Cooks are many Chefs are Few”.

BLW: Message for the book lovers in this world!

Nikita Tak: A single book is like 50 friends. That is to say, a single book is equal to 50 friends.

So, I must say, the saying goes correct, “Books are our best friends”. They teach a lot.
